NaNoWriMo is less than a month away.
The anxiety/panic/existential dread is setting in already!! Isn’t this exciting?!
I’m terrible at NaNoWriMo, and writing in general. (Just being real.) Being a very visual person is pretty awful if you’re also a writer, because if you’re like me you need to see things in order to write about them—and this is pretty difficult if you’re writing a fantasy about element-wielding demi-gods.
I need charts, timelines the size (and length) of my house, character portraits dissecting exact costume details, notecards, maps of each country, city, room, etc. etc. etc.
Well, I can’t help you with any of that (just yet), but hopefully what I’ve made will help you keep your NaNo daily wordcounts consistent, and keep you accountable.
Just right click to save to your desktop, and then you can either use this calendar digitally or print it out to loom over you as you write… No pressure.
I kept this simple for one reason: I’m extremely picky about designs. I don’t like a bunch of colors, illustrations, patterns, et cetera—especially with writing-related things because it distracts from the content. So this can be used with tiny stickers to mark off your word counts (for instance, every sticker stands for 250/500/whatever amount of words), or you can make bubbles and fill them in, or just write your daily wordcounts out by hand. NaNoWriMo’s minimum wordcount is 50,000, but I know some of you are overachievers so I left the “goal” blank as well. Knock yourself out and don’t be afraid to dream big. If you don’t meet your goal, who cares? Writing every day is a great habit to form.
I’d love to see your ideas and the way you use this calendar! You can tag me on Instagram and Twitter using @coffeewithcate, and be sure to add me on NaNoWriMo.org, username cadymc.
